Sud, v. p. 6 (1912). female: Head black-brown; thorax yellow with a brown patch at middle of dorsum; the patagia edged with black towards tips; legs brown; abdomen orange-yellow San dorsal black spots on two basal seoments followed by dorsal bands on the other segments, lateral series of small spots, the ventral surface with narrow black bands on three terminal segments. Fore wing hyaline, the veins and margins black, the terminal band expanding widely on apical area and ‘below vein 2. Hind wing hyaline, the veins and margins black, the black on termen expanding towards apex. Hab. Cotompta, Medina (Fass/), type + 2 in Coll. Dognin. Exp. 32 millim. AZ NOTE: Cat. Lep. Ph. Brit. Mus. uses a non-standard definition of "tegulae" and "patagia". From Vol. 1: "The thorax consists of three segments-the prothorax, bearing the tegulm or collar-lappets, the patagia or shoulder-lappets, and the fore legs ..." Seitz: C. dorsicinctum Dogn. Palpi, head and antennae black; collar yellow, shoulder-covers yellow, at the apex black. Thorax yellow, in the middle black. Abdomen yellow, with dorsal black bands and subdorsal black spots. In the male the yellow colour is of a deeper orange, the prothorax blackened, the subdorsal black abdominal spots reduced, the 2 last rings quite black. Wings hyaline with black veins, margins and large apical spots, at the costal base yellow. Expanse of wings: 25 to 29 mm. East Colombia.
